To all of the mothers out there….

Journeying the self sacrificing path of teaching, loving unconditionally, charecter building, mentoring your next generation.

I am humbled and proud at the same time that as mothers, we have the ability to leave huge fingerprints on our kids lives, leaving each day, a little bit of ourselves with our children, that they may someday use later in life.

But most of all, I hope these fingerprints we leave always show them our hearts will always passionately, joyfully, loyally ache for them in ways we never anticipated before becoming mothers. That we sacredly cling to this very privalege of motherhood.

You and I as mothers, whether biological or adopted, are so rich in that we have the opportunity to let our kids know they are a part of something bigger.

Happy Mothers Day history makers….

I have always had a love for kids.  A love for their honesty, compassion, creativity, desire to know more, and their love for their parents.

Today we said a farewell to our pet hermit crab Hermie.  This marked a big day for Jake our son because he was truly bonded to that crustacean and loved caring for him.

What moved me today was watching how our two girls rallied around Jake to help him grieve and yet encourage.  Olivia, our five year old, immediately told Jake that he was a great pet owner and that he taught her a lot about hermit crabs.

Ella, or seven year old, thought Hermie should have something pretty to put on top of the dirt where he was buried, so she took one of her necklaces and cut it into  pieces to get the pretty sea shells off of it.  She thought Jake would like to decorate Hermies grave.  As he was slowly trying to figure out how he wanted to design the grave with those sea shells, Ella said, “I hope you have enough, it was all I had.”  That is where I began to become inspired and humbled at the same time.

How many times have I given as a child, and gave all I had so that others were properly provided for?

Something to consider today:)
